SheTO, (“SheTO,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used and disclosed by SheTO.  This Privacy Policy applies to our website, https://www.sheto.org/, and any other website that links to this Privacy Policy (our “Sites”) as well as to other services when you interact with us, including by registering and attending an event (“Event”) (collectively, our “Service”). By accessing or using our Service, you expressly consent that you have read, understood and agree to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What Information We Collect And For What Purpose

The categories of information we collect can include:

  • Information You Provide to Us Directly.  We may collect personal information, such as your name, title, location, biography, e-mail address and any other pertinent information, when you register for our Service, sign up for an Event, sign up for our mailing list, participate in a survey, or otherwise communicate with us.  We may also collect any communications between you and SheTO and any other information you provide to us.

  • Event Information. If you attend an Event, we may collect information from you in connection with an event participation release, or any other release in connection with any one of our Events.

  • Information We Receive from Third Parties.  We may receive personal information about you from third parties, such as providers that manage Event registration, social media sites, or other sponsors, partners, or third-party services, and combine that with information we collect through our Service. For example, when you like, follow or share SheTO content on social media services or other sites, we may receive information from the social network, including your profile information, picture, user ID associated with your social media account, and any other information you permit the social network to share with third parties. The data we receive from these third-party sites is dependent upon that third party’s policies and your privacy settings on that third-party site. We may also collect information about you that is publicly available.

We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Service, as well as to communicate directly with you, such as to send you email messages. We may also send you Service-related emails or messages (e.g., changes or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices).  For more information about your communication preferences, see “Control Over Your Information” below. We may also use any information you provide to us in connection with an event participation release, or similar release, in accordance with the terms of such release. 

We do not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years of age, please do not attempt to register or send any Personal Information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a user under age 18, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. 2.   How We Use Cookies And Other Tracking Technology To Collect Information

We, and our third-party partners, automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit our Service, read our emails, or otherwise engage with us. We typically collect this information through a variety of tracking technologies, including cookies, Flash objects, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, file information and similar technology (collectively, “tracking technologies”).  For example, we collect information about your device and its software, such as your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, platform type, device type, operating system, date and time stamp, a unique ID that allows us to uniquely identify your browser or mobile device and other such information. We may also collect information about the way you use our Service, for example, the site from which you came and the site to which you are going when you leave our Sites, the pages you visit, the links you click, how frequently you access the Service, whether you open emails or click the links contained in emails, whether you access the Service from multiple devices, and other actions you take on the Service.  We may collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service and to understand more about the demographics of our users. We may also work with third party partners to employ technologies, including the application of statistical modeling tools, which permit us to recognize and contact you across multiple devices.

Depending on your mobile device and operating system, you may not be able to delete or block all cookies and you may not be able to block non-cookie technologies, and these browser settings that block cookies may have no effect on such techniques.  You may also set your email options to prevent the automatic downloading of images that may contain technologies that would allow us to know whether you have accessed our email and performed certain functions with it.

We may share your personal information with:

  • Third parties, in connection with managing Event registrations and attendance. We may process and share your information to plan and host Events for which you have registered or that you plan to attend, including sending related communications to you;

  • Event attendees, to encourage connections beyond the event, provided you have opted-in to sharing personal information;

  • Third-party vendors and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, as needed to carry out their work for us, which may include identifying and serving targeted advertisements, providing mailing services, providing tax and accounting services, contest fulfillment, web hosting, or providing analytic services;

  • Other parties in connection with a company transaction, such as a merger, sale of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party, or in the event of a bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings; and

  • Third parties as required by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement; or to protect the security or integrity of our Service; and/or to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of SheTO, our visitors, or others.

We may also share information with others in an aggregated or otherwise anonymized form that does not reasonably identify you directly as an individual.

How to Control Your Communications Preferences:  You can stop receiving promotional email communications from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such communications.  You may not opt out of service-related communications (e.g., transactional communications, changes/updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices).

Modifying or Deleting Your Information:  If you have any questions about reviewing, modifying, or deleting your information, or if you want to remove your name or comments from our Sites or publicly displayed content, you can contact us directly at hello@divhersity.com.  We may not be able to modify or delete your information in all circumstances. 

Google Analytics: We may work with third party analytics services, such as Google Analytics provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) to help us understand how the Service is being used, such as tracking the frequency and duration of use of the Service. Google and these analytics services may use cookies to collect information about the content you view, what websites you visit immediately prior to and after visiting the Service, and your system information and geographic information. The information generated by these cookies about your use of the Service will be transmitted to and stored by the applicable analytics services we use. We do not combine the information generated through the use of Google Analytics with your Personal Information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your use of the Services is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. The Service may contain links to and from third-party websites of our business partners, advertisers, and social media sites and our users may post links to third-party websites.  If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies.  We strongly recommend that you read their privacy policies and terms and conditions of use to understand how they collect, use, and share information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content on the websites of third-party sites.

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year. Continuing to use our Service after we publish changes to this Privacy Policy means that you are consenting to the changes.
